Plasma crashing regularly

I recently upgraded to 15.04 and I find that plasma is crashing with some regularity (maybe 2-3 times a day) seems to be usually when a new window is popping up but I can't seem to reproduce it on demand.

Any thoughts on how I could debug this?

so you upgraded from kubuntu 14.10 to 15.04? that's not really recommended given the fact that 15.04 has the new plasma 5 environment whereas previous versions of kubuntu had plasma 4. If it's not too much trouble, I would backup your data and do a clean install of 15.04 (I did that on my laptop and it is running very smoothly, but of course that might be different on your hardware, you never know)

Hmm, OK I'll give that a shot when I have some time.

Another couple notes, it seems to be krunner and plasma both that are crashing. They tend to restart fine though so it isn't a huge deal just an annoyance.

If you just want to take 15.04 out for a spin, I'd definitely run it in a VirtualBox virtual machine running on a more stable platform like 14.04LTS. I'm waiting until 16.04 before upgrading Kubuntu so that the KDE5 bugs are ironed out.

I did the same path from LTS 14.04-->.10-->15.04. All was well until 15.04. It's probably Plasma 5, but dang, completely hosed my OS. Good thing I like distro hopping (and keep all my data on another device). Tried fresh 15.04 install, broke. Tried elementary, broke. Finally tossed in Mint 17.1/KDE/UEFI and it's running just fine.
