Hey all,

I recently bought Dell XPS 13 9343 2015, the non developer edition. It the first time I 've spent that time struggling with ubuntu. The first time I installed 14.10 in which my sound card was not recognised and then 15.04 was out and I upgraded to this. The sound card was recognised but other problems came up, like every now and then the the system was completely freeze and the caps lock led was blinking, the wifi connection was lost very often and the video on skype was full of green pixels. So, my question is, which version of ubuntu is the most compatible for xps13 2015 non developer edition. I read that the developer edition from dell is using 12.04 LTS. What's your opinion? Which version of Ubuntu should I use?

thanks in advance,
Haris

Since no one knows some info or is not willing to help, I found these links
http://forthescience.org/blog/2015/03/20/installing_ubuntu_14_04_on_the_new_dell_xps_13/
https://major.io/2015/02/03/linux-support-dell-xps-13-9343-2015-model/
that explain a a lot of stuff about the specific topic.
I did a clean install with ubuntu 15.04 and everything seems to work out of the box except a small problem with skype.

Specifically speaking, for hardware compatibility it is always best to buy a machine with Ubuntu pre-installed. Generally speaking, for hardware compatibility the latest versions of Ubuntu are more likely to be compatible with hardware that was released since older versions of Ubuntu were released.

As regards Dell XPS13 Developer Edition it comes with Ubuntu 14.04 LTS
