Missing Icons?

Hello,

I am wondering why I cant get icons to show up for programs like Pidgin, and VLC player, etc?

I can go into Pidgin and say ALWAYS SHOW ICON but I never see it in the notifications icons on my toolbar?

I would really like to have those icons so I dont have to always click SHOW MY DESKTOP then click the pidgin icon to see my buddylist?

( I am using pidgin because I just dont care too much for telepathy)

It probably has something to do with vlc and pidgin not being native kde apps, and plasma 5 being so new. You may need to find a more complete icon set from kdelook.org, or the like.
Try the faenzaflattr icons they might be more complete than the official one.
