Was trying to reinstall ubuntu laptop OS ubuntu 12.04 for I having some problems with it. I burned ubuntu onto a flashdrive using universal usb installer. It appeared successful. I restarted the PC with the flashdrive and it started as if there was no program on the flashdrive. The flashdrive is recognized by the computer. Tried it on laptop with windows os and it made no changes either.

What else can I do to reinstall ubuntu.

You probably need to press a key on your keyboard to see the boot menu and be able to choose the USB.

Have a look in the laptop hardware manual to see if the key is mentioned, or try F2, F8, F11 or F12, which are most often used in my experience.

However, it could be almost any key, depending on the BIOS and motherboard so keep trying.

I boot key was shown when it started up. I was esc. I did not see the flashdrive. Did recovery mode. It solved the majority of my problems.
