Installing in Windows 7 using WUBI

When I try to install Ubuntu using Wubi on Windows 7 I get an error message reading: Cannot install metalink and therefore iso

How do I install
There are three partitions:
Partition 1 is windows
Partition 2 is backup folder and
Partition3 is empty (NTFS).
I want to install on partition 3.

wubi is an old thing, no more maintained and fully dead
either do a real install or use virtualbox

Since you have an empty NTFS partition, remove it and install Ubuntu in that unallocated space.
