Are there any Xubuntu programs out there that will track via GPS a vehicle.
I am looking for something affordable obviously, and something that will also slap the data into a map and I can get slope grades, speeds, distances etc.
I also have an old Samsung Ace IIx and an old ipad, would be good if I could maybe install all that onto the phone/ipad for a bicycle instead of having a huge bulky laptop.
I am converting my bicycle to an ebike, like a 4HP nominal, 8HP peak ebike monster with Direct Drive motor, and a 100V controller. Its a 100% DIY project, but I am almost done.
If I were to do it all over again, I would have just boughten a package deal off the interweb, especially the batteries!

I don't understand why you seem to be seeking a Linux-based solution to install onto a phone/iPad.
Or is the mobile device merely for data collection? And you are looking for a Linux-based solution for data storage and display?

You could use a raspberrypi, gpsdrive, and a USB GPS receiver. For display, you could use an HDMI car dash display.
