Here is a story about self programming software
http://observer.com/2014/10/googles-new-computer-with-human-like-learning-abilit ies-will-program-itself/
I have been reading a little about this online and it is totally beyond me. I am curious about how this works but I realize there are lots of things I am curious about that are beyond my ability to grasp, like much of quantum physics. I am a retired programmer of average abilities. Is there anything I could read that would make it clear how a self programming computer using neural networks programs itself? Or should I classify it assomething I won't understand?

Since you are retired guess you are not worried about losing your job to this. :)
