View Full Version : bluetooth idle disconnects - any way to prevent?

I find the behaviour of bluetooth drivers absolutely infuriating. While this doesn't have to do with Ubuntu specifically, I can't for the life of me figure out how someone thought it was a good idea to disconnect bluetooth devices when idle, without confirming user input. I don't EVER want my bt devices to disconnect, EVER. I'd rather recharge the batteries every now and then than waste time turning my headset back on, going to the settings -> bluetooth and re-connecting, then going to settings -> audio to switch from laptop speaker to headset. As it is, I just have to use the wire to plug them in, and .. what's the point, then? Otherwise I always risk coming back to my desk from a meeting, un-pausing my audio player, and have it come blaring out of the laptop speaker.

This is such stupid behaviour it beggars comprehension.

Is there any way to address this? I see some solutions for input devices like mice, but nothing generic. Is this even recognized as an issue?
