Unable to update OS

I am running Zorin OS 9 and I’m not familiar with the OS and unable to update any software not sure where to go next, should I reinstall the OS?

Open a terminal

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UsingTheTerminal#Starting_a_Terminal

and enter

sudo apt-get update
Get any errors?
