Why not use simple screen recorder instead of Kazam? Development on Kazam is dead I believe.

If it ain't broke, why fix it?

A few emulators are no longer in development also, but I still use them.

Lately I've been using the bsnes-accuracy-mercury core in RetroArch as my SNES emulator of choice. The emulation is perfect, and the shaders allow you to make it look like you're playing on an old TV. It doesn't require as powerful of a computer as people say either.

Bsnes is a great emulator. I have it installed.

I prefer Snes9x mostly for one reason, and that is it allows me to program a button on my gamepad as "save state" and also program a button on my gamepad as "load state." This one little feature is very useful when trying to beat hard platform games.
