So I just found and started using Terminology (https://www.enlightenment.org/p.php?p=about/terminology) and think it is pretty damn awesome (as far as Terminals go :p).
Random video from Youtube showing it in action:

Interesting. Nice effects. Does it have the ability to send text input to multiple windows, tabs or panes?
I'm less partial to which terminal emulator I use now that I've been using tmux. That's got pretty much everything I usually need.

Fluff. Is it still secure with all those graphics?

Can't be... I never run a GUI if I want to feel secure...

Which command-line interface is secure then?

Sorry I forgot to add sarcasm tags to my post ;) - In this day and age I am not sure what can be considered secure and what not. I doubt that a terminal that has some theming options will be that much less secure than any computer that connects to the Internet becomes by default these days.

Terminology is really fancy :KS
But if you want something really light-weight, you can brush up old xterm with some options. There is a huge list of options in
man xterm
It looks pretty nice with
xterm -fa default -fs 13
and even better with
xterm -fa default -fs 13 -foreground black -background beige -sb -rightbar -title "Hello World"

That does look good :)

The correct answer was "virtual consoles". ;-)
I shouldn't be hasty. However, I know GUIs can be hacked to lie. If gui terminals are vulnerable in this way, maybe virtual consoles aren't. Regardless, they deserve a mention in this thread. http://luv.asn.au/overheads/virtualconsoles.html
