Hello,

Can I reinstall Kubuntu without the use of USB-drives / DVD / other hard-drives ?

Is there a way to execute the installer from within an existing Kubuntu-installation?

Background:
I installed Kubuntu without using any of the above and i made a huge mess in the process. (Though, I think my external hard-drive might or might not had something to do with it...). Eventually I succeeded, but now I want to undo any mistakes I might have done.

wotanii; Hi ! Welcome to the forum.

Short answer is YES .
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Grub2/ISOBoot <-Ubuntu ISOs are designed to allow booting directly from the hard drive using GRUB 2 and eliminates the need for burning a CD/DVD.

Other means do exist, but I sure like this one.

Thank you Bashing-om. This worked very well.

I had some trouble installing to and from the same partition, but those were solved by reading the article to the end ;-)
