Hello,

I am new to kubuntu (8+ year ubuntu user) and I have it mostly figured out. However, I hate anything on my desktop, and there is this annoying battery monitor / brightness widget that I cannot seem to get rid of. Here is a screenshot of the widget in the top left corner: link (http://i.imgur.com/kNEMwE5.jpg) . Where are the settings to remove this, and perhaps add battery to the panel?

Thanks

This is a few weeks old, but what happens if you hover your mouse over it, or right click on it? It shouldn't be hard to remove.

I don't like anything on my desktop either. ;)

If the original poster comes back the he should try right-mouse clicking on the desktop and Unlock Widgets.

Mouse-clicking on the offending item should bring up several icons, one of which, an X, can be used to delete the offending item.

Finish with Lock Widgets to protect desktop settings.

To add items to the System Tray, right mouse-click between the icons, then System Tray Settings, Unlock Widgets if you need to, then check any items you wish to be displayed, un-check any items that you wish to remove.
