I recently installed 4 USB 3.0 ports to my 10-year old Packard Bell PC

Now all good and slightly increased transfer speed

Now i want to boot from a USB 3.0 flashdrive which contains my ubuntu install and for better results i want to boot from the 3.0 port

Now the Bios [also ten years old] does not see the new ports as yet

When I boot the new ports light up last after everything is already going

How do I make these visible to the Bios so I can boot from there?

I hope this is doable

Thanx for clever input in advance

PS or is there a way to bypass Bios and boot from new ports?

So you installed an extra controller in the form of ? A pci card? I would suggest that you boot from an original usb port and check if you can see the new ports then. It is possible that the bios won't be able to boot from addon usb ports. What is certainly not possible is to bypass bios, and have them boot if bios can't do it.
