Hello people, im new into ubuntu, years ago i try a litle ubuntu but i read xubuntu its better for non so high specs computer.

i have installed nvidia drivers with nvidia-current command and i set my favorite resolution 1366x768 the one i use on w7. i feel comfortable with tha res, i know i can increase icon size etc on xubuntu but i want to stick with it.

the problemn its that xorg consumes much resources, more than 1600 res. normally xorg its on 30-40 % when nothing its open but when i watch a video. xorg reach 100% plus browser. etc

heres my xorg.conf.

it's probably your browser.
in firefox you need to make sure hardware acceleration is being used, check your "about:support" page in firefox, preferences-> general & in "about:config" you may have to force..
in chrome the page is "chrome://gpu" it should all be green or forced for hardware rendering, chrome has blacklisted a ton of graphics cards, you'll need to override that in "chrome://flags"

i use google chrome, don't have firefox installed no more, so i'm going to try to remember. lol
go into about:config & use the search, type "force" that should bring up a short list, that you just toggle to "true", not sure which 1's, so copy the name & google it, that's what i did. ypu might also want to enable "pipelining".

i dumped firefox cause on my system chrome runs the best, i tried many browser, qupzilla, midori, chromium, etc...

i do that and set nvidia to be based on performance thsn imagequality and still its high. so i think the problem its the resolution it self. right now im on 1600x900 ress and xorg barely ups to 8-10% when running the vid, so i think the problem its the 1366x768

can you help me, checking my xorg? thank u :)

this is my xorg with 1600 res

well, on w7 when i have installed the nvidia drivers with my monitor the max was 1600 but after that1366 but here in xubuntu 1366 res its marked as "scaled"

http://www.ultraimg.com/images/Screenshot-190215-015829.png

i just wanna use that res if its possible like on w7.

yeah, screens run best at native resolution in your case it would be the 1600x900.
scaled just means it's being made to fit.

not sure what you can do to lower usage, wait for others to give input.

i thought you said it was lower ?
how are you measuring all this ? i see your desktop is stock, you haven't added no monitors.
i got mine all loaded up on the panel. lol
i keep a second panel hidden with just my most used apps.
