View Full Version : [ubuntu] Problem usb installation, Toshiba NB255-N250

Hello everyone,

It's been a while since I last posted here. Hi to all.

I am trying to install Ubuntu in a Toshiba NB255-N250, I downloaded the Ubuntu 14.04.1 iso, and made a USb boot with Lili, but when I try to boot my pc with it I get this message:

graphics initialization failed
Error setting up gfxboot
boot : _

I have no idea why that happens. I tried the same USB on a HP Pavillion and it works just fine (although it does take ages for it to start).

Also, I'm not really fond of unity desktop, so I was planning on installing gnome afterwards but I noticed there is an Ubuntu gnome release, is this a trial thing or is it stable?

Thank you everybody.

This is a weak Atom based computer. Have you tried X/Lubuntu?
