Hi,
I am used to keep my /home partition when making a fresh installations of ubuntu releases.
So far my /home partition dates back to 2007 or so while I am using Xubuntu 14.04.
Config file (typically dot something .*) are then kept in the system. That is very convinient for history and log-in information kept by chrome or firefox default accounts.
But a side effect is that desktop environment looks like frozen in the past not actually having a fresh 2014 desktop.
I assume I should change/remove some config file, but I don't know exactly which ones or how to go in.
