i have installed ubuntu 13.xx and need to get vpn/authentication/internet connection.

i haver installled ubuntu 13.xx on my gaming computer and cannot attach to internet with it. i have set up computer with full installation waiting for 14.0 update to come.
but i am trying to set internet connection and i am new tpo ubuntu so i need help with:
vpn name/hosting..
*do i need to put in command code or something>?

Both 13.04 and 13.10 reached their end of life last year, so receiving updates is unlikely.
