It was inadvertantly fixed in glibc 2.18 but the vulnerability is present even in Ubuntu 12.04 since it has glibc 2.15 pathches need to be applied and server restarted.

I got nothing on unattended upgrades in debian stable. but I did a reboot not long ago.
