I would like to have the feature in xubuntu that ubuntu has where you can place a check to get the volume over 100%. Can someone that has done this tell me what package I need to install?

It can be done with existing controls:

After setting the panel's sound menu volume level at maximum (100), open pulse audio volume control, open the "output devices" tab and you can raise the level further (to about 150%).

Thanks for the reply! What I am looking for is the package that gives Ubuntu the checkbox to keep the volume set over 100%. I know I read about it a while back but I can npt find the information now that I can use it...

Easy way to launch Pulse Audio volume control: click on panel volume icon > sound settings.
Once you set it over 100% in sound settings, it should keep your chosen setting. Mine does. No need for a check box.
