Hey all, It would be grateful if anyone can help me on an issue during my boot.
I installed ubuntu 14.04 along with pre-installed windows 8.0 on a DELL XPS laptop.
When I boot into ubuntu, it showed an error message showing "usb 2-1.5 string descriptor 0 read error -22".

Although this error message does not affect the system boot anyway, I would like to know how this error comes out and how the error can be resolved.
Does anyone have the experience on this issue?

I also get that message. And have this weird problem with the touchpad being jumpy if I removed the "LAN/VGA Combo port cable". But the touchpad worked again fine if I plug the "LAN/VGA Combo port cable" back.

In my case, I tried my both USB ports without/without a mouse. The error message showed anyway, but the boot continued without any other trouble.
I guess it can be related to my installation with a USB DVD-rom.

I hope someone here have any idea how to fix this. Since it's troublesome if I have to plug the "LAN/VGA Combo port cable" everytime just to make touchpad works. The other USB ports works fine though.
