I currently have a Epson V550 that I use for enlarging people prints and even taking out blemishes or scratches in the original. I was wondering would I see a picture quality difference between between these two scanners?
*Mainly scanning reflective pictures not negatives.
Epson V550 specifications
Optical Resolution: 6400 dpi with Epson MatrixCCD®
Hardware Resolution: 6400 x 9600 dpi with Micro Step Drive™ technology
Color Bit Depth: 48-bits per pixel internal / external
Optical Density: 3.4 Dmax
Light Source: ReadyScan LED technology
Epson V850 Specifications
Epson Dual Lens System: 4800 dpi and 6400 dpi
Hardware Resolution: 4800 x 9600 dpi
6400 x 9600 dpi with Micro Step Drive™ technology
Color Bit Depth: 48-bits per pixel internal / external1
Optical Density: 4.0 Dmax
Or would better scanner software be a better choice such as Silverfast or Vuescan?
Lastly I used a all in one and found that the scan quality was not good at all. The color.accuracy was horrible and the image was blurry. Is that normal?
Thank you.
