Running .bin files on Ubuntu for Adobe AIR

I have been attempting to installAdobe AIR for the use of a few programs. However, after attempting to use the advice given on the Adobe website as well as several forums (including this one), I have been unable to install it. Though I have narrowed the cause of this to the inability of my computer to execute .bin files. I continued to search around for a solution, but to no avail. Are there any alternative methods to install the program, like WINE?
