Hi all,
What about proprietary drivers for graphics card - do you recommend to install or not ?
I have ATI Radeon 5450 card so it's on supported list for this drivers.
I don't use computer to games, only for console, Virtualbox and youtube.
Actualy I see that parameter radeon.dpm is on default enable, so temperature of card also is ok.

What is your recommendation to install or not ?

Thanks for help.
Michal

I've got that card in one of my machines.
And truth be told, it's dealer's choice.
Both the open and closed source drivers work perfectly well.

So if you do not want to deal with installing the closed source drivers, then by all means you should be fine without them.
For me, the one true benefit of the closed source driver is the use of the catalyst control center for a little more nuanced tweaking.
