I recently installed Ubuntu 14.04.1 I've had some problems with my screen resolution. At first Ubuntu wouldn't even recognize my graphics card (Nvidia9800gt) after I got that problem sorted, I was stuck in the wrong resolution. I've installed the latest drivers from Nvidia, and had some luck, but im still stuck in 1280 x 1024, which is'nt my optimal setting.
Here are my system specs:
AMD Phenom II x4 955
Nvida 9800gt
4G DDR3
Monitor: Hanspree HF259H
I installed the latest PPA, and Nvidia drivers, which enabled me to get past the blank screen, but now Im stuck in 1280 x 1024
This is my first Ubuntu install, coming from Windows 7
