Hi,

I'm a first time Unity/linux GUI user (I've used Linux only in console before).

I've installed Utopic Unicorn on my work machine with dual monitors and I have an issue with window sizes in certain applications and don't know if this is a problem of applications themselves or Unity problem.

Latest stable Chrome for example, while remembering that it should be launched on the left monitor, will not remember the size of the inspector window, it always launches really small, like in the screenshot below:

Pidgin has the same problem. I'm trying to set it up to launch docked to the top/bottom screen edges, so it takes the full height of the right monitor, but it simply won't stick.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Edi

Hello, I would like to help you in your problem. In my own opinion what you need to do is go to the Ubuntu software center and install Compiz Config. Enter it and then go to window management. In there you should see position of every new window you open and size that you are interested in.
