Hello everyone. I have Windows 8.1 64-bit.

I downloaded Ubuntu 14.04 64 bit onto a 30GB usb. I created it in Universal USB Installer.
When I boot the USB this is what I do.

Go to Advanced Startup (Restarting the PC)
Select 'Use a Devicce
Select my Sandisk USB with Ubuntu installed on it
Grub comes up and I tried selecting 'Try Ubuntu'
Went to black screen.

I tried it again but Selected 'Install Ubuntu' this time but still goes to a black screen.
Please help!

Hi patrick66. Welcome to the forum ):P

What kind of graphic card do you have?

It may help if you set the 'nomodeset' flag at the main menu on the LiveCD. Here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OTmZYzaxR_k)'s a video tutorial on how to do it.

Hope it helps. Let us know how it goes.

Come here often and have fun.
Regards.

I am using Ubuntu Live right now thanks to this tutorial, but I have a problem. While I am installing it doesn't detect my Windows 8 OS under installation type what do I do?
