I have been experiencing some weird things in Firefox within the last few releases. I have tried to determine the causes with no results.
I am running Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS with GNOME-Session 3.9.90 on a Dell Prescision 380 workstation. The problems I am experiencing are as follows:
1. Whenever I try to place the cursor into a data field, the content of the clipboard gets pasted into the field.
2. Whenever I click on an open tab to change the focus to that tab, it closes.
3. Whenever I open a new tab, 2 tabs open.
The current version of Firefox is 33.0.
Has anyone else seen these problems, and if so, found a solution? Any information that can be provided will be greately appreciated.
Thanks in advance for any help you may provide.

Rename the hidden .mozilla folder in your home, open FF again to what will be the default as if just installed and see if the problem is still showing.

If it goes away it is your profile at fault, if it's still a problem it sounds like a hardware problem; are you using a touchpad or mouse?
