View Full Version : [ubuntu] Trusty desktop hangs during booting at "random: nonblocking pool is initialised"

I installed trusty 14.04 about one month ago on a newly bought Asus X751LA. It was working quite well and fast.
Resuming from a suspension today it hung up. I had to hard-reset, but the system did not reboot.
At grub menu I launched the recovery mode, and there I can see that the booting process hangs at:
random: nonblocking pool is installed

Since the recovery mode uses the nomodeset, I guess the install does not go on (I checked and the notebook does not get online, no ip shows up in my lan).
I started the notebook using a live-cd and apparently everything is fine: the partitions are there, files are there, drive working fine.

Before restarting everything from scratch with a new install, I would give a couple of tries, if you have any idea.

I have been working for quite sometime with linux, but something like this was really unexpected.

Thanks for your help.
