Hi,

I installed Ubuntu 14.04 on my brand new 3tb sata today and it wont boot.

I have tried re installing, using different partitions, and booted with boot repair disk.

No matter what I do my computer wont boot Ubuntu, it just boots straight to bios.

I have given the sata boot priority in bios.

There are no other hard drives connected, internal or external.

Also my computer runs win8.1 from my ssd just fine, when plugged in. This i would imagine, means its not a hardware problem?

Any ideas?

Thank you.

Best to post the output from the bootrepair script as that willl provide more information. Use the Ubuntu installation medium to do this. Windows 8 usually installs using UEFI so you would need to install Ubuntu in UEFI mode also. The output of the script should give enough information for someone to assist you.
