Dear All

Please forgive my ignorance I am new to Linux operating systems.

I have just replaced Windows XP on my old Compaq Presario C300 laptop with Zorin educational lite (32 bit) OS.
Everyhting is good and exciting except the I can't get the built in wireless to work?

It is using this network controller which is set to enable in my BIOS.

Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4311 802.11b/g WLAN (rev 01)

I think it requires a driver to activate but have no idea which one or how to install?

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards

Andrew.

Hi, welcome to the fora.

I don't know Zorin but this is what works for Buntu:

Dear mörgæs

Thank you for the link to the other thread.

I downloaded the firmware-b43-installer.

14e4:4311 firmware-b43-installer

Unfortunatly it didn't. I have just used the USB wi-fi I had from the Raspberry Pi which works a treat but uses up one of only two USB ports on the laptop.

Kind regards

Andrew.
