Dears,
after upgrading to Ubuntu 14.10, there is no more the feature of resizing icons through right clicking etc etc.
Now I have on the desktop very large icons and find no way of making them smaller.
Any suggestion? Thanks

Go to System Settings>Appearance>Look tab and use the slider to Adjust Launcher Icon Size. You will find that the icons can be made much smaller than they ever could in 12.04. If you have been using 14.04 then 14.10 has not changed any of this at all.

The Behaviour tab will let you enable workspaces and put a workspace switcher icon on to the launcher. And also put the Show Desktop icon on the launcher if that is what you are used to.

Perhaps you are not using Ubuntu with Unity but a flavour. You do not say. So, I am making an assumption.
