Context:
Windows 8 host
Trying to set up Elementary OS 0.2 Luna guest in VirtualBox 4.3.18
Followed these directions from the official site to a tee:

Problem:
apt-get update, apt-get install, and apt-get install dkms all work successfully however,
after mounting the VBoxGuestAdditions.iso, running $ ./VBoxLinuxAdditions.run, and rebooting,
the mouse icon has turned into a black 'X' and all the windows have lost their close button.
Everything seemed perfect up until rebooting, what gives?
