Hello Ubuntu.
I am installing Ubuntu on a new HP laptop as a wubi install over Windows 7. When I select Ubuntu from the start up menu (I actually have to go thorugh two), the splash screen appears with a message under the Ubuntu logo saying "Serious errors were found while checking the disk drive for /. Press I to ignore, S to sip mounting, or M ofr manual recovery".
When I press S, I'm thrown to a terminal log-in screen. I enter my user name and password, and I get a command prompt. Where's my GUI? What have I done to my installation?
PS: I don't really care if I have to get rid of Windows, I want Ubuntu to give me my GUI annd generally to install itself correctly.
