Good evening,

I've been stuck on this step for ages and I've tried just about everything to get this going but so far no dice. What happens is when I get to step 2 of the installation (Wireless screen) and after I click continue (whether or not I choose to connect to a network yields the same results) it just hangs forever. I've searched all throughout these forums and beyond for an explanation on this matter but nothing will work. I may sound a bit desperate because I really need this to work but it's been nothing but frustration.

At this point I believe the problem lies on incompatibilities with the Network card. Any idea on how to disable it upon installation?

Additional info:
- I'm installing through USB flash drive (no optical drive)
- Tried ubuntu 14.10, 12.10 (Alt downloads included). Neither will work.
- Tried lubuntu aswell, following error occured:
ubiquity crashed with UnicodeDecodeError: 'utf-8' codec can't decode byte 0xff in position 114: invalid start byte
- Checked disk for errors, no issues.
- Tried nocmraid upon installation
- Tested with another HDD

When you say "tested with another HDD" what was the result of that test.
Have you tried to boot ubuntu in live env? does it work?
What are your hardware specs? Does it have any os installed currently?
