I have Aspire E1-571 running Linux Elemntary OS Luna. The problem is that after a period of time touchpad will start to mulfuntion rendering any use of laptop impossible or only through keyboard. The mouse will dock on to a given page and will scroll as when using two finger scroll while im only trying to move around with one finger, often it will only be able to move the pointer vertically horizontally it is impossible. Turning the mouse on/off with [FN] +F7 does not help. Only thing that restores it to normal is reset. That problem used to happen after few hours or days of use, now it will often happen within 5-30min of resetting it.

Hi everyone,
any news regarding this? Could you solve it?
Please, let me know, it's really annoying and I can't find the solution.
Thanks in advance!

Hi jplagostena-e !
I'm curious, have you tried this (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingTouchpadDetection) and this (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SynapticsTouchpad)?
Wish you all the best!

Thanks!
I have a couple of very busy weeks, but as soon as I get more time, I'll be trying a couple of things I saw in the links.
