Hello everyone,
I have been checking and trying for a while now on how to get multi finger mouse gestures to work on my new Thinkpad x240 with Ubuntu 14.10 running.
For starters 1 and 2 fingers work fine (i.e. scrolling and such) and all I really want to configure is how to switch Desktops by swiping with three fingers in the corresponding direction.
So for my background:
I know touchegg has troubles in unity because unity has mouse gestures installed and they conflict. However I followed a tutorial to cut them out but it didnt work. Now I've also tried to install gnome because in some threads I've seen that people report that touchegg "works like a charm" with gnome. That wasn't the case for me unfortunately.
Anyway now I'm back to a fresh Ubuntu 14.10 installation and I am close to giving up but I thought I'd ask the forums again if anyone has a similar setup with similar struggles but managed to make it work.
In order to understand here are the steps I followed before:
I installed touchegg like here: http://askubuntu.com/questions/92169/touchpad-gestures-to-change-workspace
I disabled unity's mouse gestures like here: http://ineed.coffee/1068/os-x-like-multitouch-gestures-for-macbook-pro-running-ubuntu-12-10/

If you need any other, more specific information please let me know.
Oh and if it helps, I have other issues with the synaptics driver described here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2251022
Cheers,
Paul

Hey all,
I was just wondering if there were any news on this? Is there development or someone having similar problems?
Cheers
