Heya. I've been trying for the past hour to smack Ubuntu onto my older computer, because windows 7 completely destroys the sempron based processor.
Alt tabbing during the splash screen gives me a 'stopped network filesystem ' or something along those lines, and then becomes unresponsive.
I've tried using nomodeset too.
The processor is an Athlon 64 3400+, and the gpu is an nvidia gtx 660 ( the only spare card I have lying around with HD support)
It also has 1.5gb ram (eugh, odd ram and ddr1, lovely)
Please help! The sluggishness of the windows beast must be vanquished!
