Hi!
I created a bootable USB to install ubuntu on my older PC but when i try any of the options in the setup menu (try ubuntu without installing, install ecc) i get a bunch of black lines the first saying

"Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block (2,0)

I have windows 7 installed on this pc and was planning to make a partition to use Ubuntu mainly for school purposes, any idea what the problem might be? Thanks!!

I can use google, but my problem seems to be different, or at least i can't solve it like they did in the other thread.

Did you check the iso file you used against the listed values at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuHashes?

If they do not match you will need to download the file again, preferably with a torrent client which ensures the download is not corrupt in any way. If they do match you may need to create the bootable USB again; what did you use to make it first time?

Thanks! It was the iso file, i recreated the USB with a brand new ISO and everything works :)
