View Full Version : [ubuntu] 14.04 grub rescue after attempt to create bootable USB

Hello and thank you in advance for your help!

I've been running Ubuntu 14.04 LTS on a 128G SSD (successfully) until today when I attempted to burn a 64bit Ubuntu 14.04 iso to USB stick (8GB).

(Oh, I installed it as encrypted, as you will see in the data dump below)

My pc rebooted and came up with the following GRUB rescue prompt...

error: file '/grub/i386-pc/normal.mod' not found.
Enterng rescue mode...
grub rescue>

(USB stick removed yields same result)

I booted using a boot-repair-disk-64bit CD and gathered the following info...
