hello, I am using ubuntu 14.04, and I want to install a windows 7 iso to an USB stick, using Winusb. Unfortunately, after it says copying, it seems to get stuck in a loop when prompting: installing for i386...

what is going wrong here??

thanks in advance, Frank

I think you can only install win95 or win xp with winusb software.

See http://sourceforge.net/projects/winusb/

I think you can use universal USB installer software: http://www.pendrivelinux.com/universal-usb-installer-easy-as-1-2-3/

It is not only for linux, you can also select win 7 from dropdown menu to put in usb in the step one.

There is. But you should use windows and download the tool from Microsoft website. Windows 7 DVD Tool, (I believe it works for windows 8 too). http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/html/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool

Or another tool, but not quite user friendly but works for creating XP, win7 and win8 USB: http://wintoflash.com/home/en/

Tried that, but somehow my 32 Gb usb drive is not recognized in the program. I tried to format it to NTFS aswell as FAT32, but no go....

I tried it with the pendrive program, but no usb stick shows up in the checkbox.

I didn't try it on wine. You're creating a windows bootable USB might as well use a windows machine if you have one available.
