hard drive runs none stop on 14.10

After upgrading from 14.04 to 14.10 my hard drive runs all the time, none stop. Everything seems to be working, just slower and the hard drive light is always on.

I checked the processes on system monitor and found mediascanner-2.0 running. I stopped the process and the problem of the hard drive running all the time stopped, so I uninstalled it and now things are working fine.
I don't know why it was installed. I checked my other computers and that service was not running on them. If I find a problem I'll let you know.
