Ubuntu 14.04 Compiz Effects problems??

I have recently jumped back to Ubuntu and installed the 64 bit version of Ubuntu 14.04 on my laptop.

I have installed the gnome session fallback desktop as I hate Unity and I want the old alien beam up effects back on my desktop bbut they are not available in compiz.

I have installed the compiz extra plugins package but still nothing?? =(

Can anyone point me in the right direction.

Some of the compiz plug-ins have been discontinued because compiz is now Canonical maintained rather than an independent project. The original developer was hired by Canonical and left in 2012.
