Is there an input method that would support typing letters with macrons over them, ae digraph with and without macron, thorn, eth, winn, insular g, etc. for typing in Old English (Englisc, Anglo-Saxon)? Or do I have to just keep copying and pasting from the Wikipedia "List of Uncode Characters"?

1: Select a keyboard layout that supports them, maybe using dead keys. Doesn't work for all characters.
2: Type ctrl+shift+u, hexadecimal unicode code, space. You have to memorize all codes. Works for all characters.
3: Use the compose key. Works for more characters than the keyboard and has easely memorizable key combinations.

Perhaps use xmodmap and make a keyboard overlay and define all of your keys. You can also buy a blank keyboard and make stickers to make a proper OE keyboard.

A quick google search:

Online keyboard: http://www.lexilogos.com/keyboard/english.htm

General OE symbology: http://symbolcodes.tlt.psu.edu/bylanguage/oenglish.html

Does Ubuntu have an OE translation team?

This is the extent of my OE knowledge. May the force be with you (http://www.yodaspeak.co.uk/index.php).
