This is the 4th time this has happened to me and I'm getting tired of rebuilding my machine to fix the issue.
The system hangs and I have to force a restart by either swictching to console with a Ctrl-Alt-F1 or by holding the power button. When the screen comes back up it gives me the normal login, but when I enter my password it splashes a console screen with "Restoring Resolver State... [OK]" then kicks me right back out to the login. The guest login works, but I can't get to my desktop. I can Ctrl-Alt-F1 and login to the console and enter a startx, that takes me to a desktop with no Unity so I have access to nothing.
Any suggestions for quickly resoring after a rebuild would also be appreciated.
