That's 3d windows causing problems.
It's a well known issue
One bug here
https://bugs.launchpad.net/compiz/+bug/1024208
disable that plugin and it should look fine.
You lose the 3d window effect, but the screen won't bug out when rotating the cube, at least.

I see, so I just need to wait for someone to fix the bug before i can use 3d windows. That's disappointing.

It's been like this since Ubuntu 12.10 was in development.
And if a fix came, the way updates run through Ubuntu it would be uncertain if the fix was ported to 14.04, instead it would most likely be made for the next release 14.10, or even 15.04.
Perhaps a 3rd party would be kind and package the fix for the older releases.

Have a video on YouTube with similar regressions, also on Ubuntu 14.04
