View Full Version : Configuring emacs24 on Ubuntu 14.04

Howdy! Since I installed Ubuntu 14.04, my update manager always says if failed. When it first happened, it did say it something about emacs24, that it couldn't configure or that it wasn't configured.

I have tried a number of times to fix this, but to no avail. I know I have run the ppa command from this thread (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1807615). I have started emacs but that didn't help (I don't use emacs for editing).

Now, I am trying to install pandoc (http://johnmacfarlane.net/pandoc/installing.html), which needs Haskell, which needs emacs, which needs emacs24. I can't seem to do it. I would also like to be reassured that I am getting the correct updates so I would like to get rid of those errors.

Sorry to ask, but I've been trying on and off for a few weeks.
