Hello guys,

I just installed ubuntu and i love it, but i see that i cant boot from windows 8.

i have kida same problem like this guy: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2091032&page=2

You can fix your problem just by installing Boot-Repair and run it.

First open a terminal window and type:
Code:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:yannubuntu/boot-repair && sudo apt-get update
Hit Enter and then type:
Code:
sudo apt-get install -y boot-repair && boot-repair
Hit Enter again and run the program.

Here is error code from terminal:

W: Failed to fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/yannubuntu/boot-repair/ubuntu/dists/trusty/main/binary-amd64/Packages 404 Not Found

W: Failed to fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/yannubuntu/boot-repair/ubuntu/dists/trusty/main/binary-i386/Packages 404 Not Found

E: Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.
thumper@thumper:~$ sudo apt-get install -y boot-repair && boot-repair
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree

E: Unable to locate package boot-repair

I also tired to open Voluve drivers but i see this error: http://i.imgur.com/YFPNesd.jpg "Unable to access "790 Gb Volume"

Please help.
Thanks!

UPDATE:
I just changed BIOS settings, i replaced legacy support with UEFI and i see this: https://i.imgur.com/JVgTYuf.jpg

When i changed back UEFI with legacy support i was able to bootup with ubuntu.

Hope some1 will help me to fix this problem :)

This has been updated with one more command. There is not a trusty version of Boot-Repair and you have to change tusty to saucy for Boot-Repair's version.

Boot Repair -Also handles LVM, GPT, separate /boot and UEFI dual boot.:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Boot-Repair

Post link to the summary report from Boot-Repair.

UEFI and BIOS/CSM/Legacy are not compatible. Better to install both systems in one or the other. But even if both in different modes, you should be able to boot from UEFI menu. You may have to turn on/off UEFI mode or Legacy BIOS mode to match how you installed.

How you boot installer is how it installs. And do not reinstall Ubuntu unless you use something else. Boot-Repair can convert an Ubuntu BIOS install to UEFI if you installed in BIOS boot mode.

Please use code tags on longer terminal output.

Please post the link to the Boot-Repair summary report not the log of what it does.
You can just run the report without doing any updates from the very first screen. See original link to Boot-Repair, if not sure of instructions.
