I'm new to Ubuntu and want to install it on a Sony Vaio pcv-rs630g Desktop.

My main concern is with losing the computers drivers since I don't have the original disks that came with it.
Even if I did, I heard that the Vaio's Drivers are integrated into the windows install disks. Can I back them up somehow and would they work with ubuntu?

If it matters, it originally ran Windows XP and is now running Windows 7. It's too slow with windows 7.

It has:
Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.20 Ghz
1.5 GB of RAM
32 bit

Also, can I run programs like itunes and fruity loops on ubuntu?

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

In case you are still following the thread:
It's not likely that you need to add more drivers than are already present in Lubuntu. Try in a live boot and see for yourself.

Apple is going great lengths to ensure that their software is not working on Linux.
