View Full Version : [mythbuntu] Set up LVM during install

I'm installing Mythbuntu 14.04.1 on my HTPC. I had OpenSUSE on that machine and had set up two Logical Volumes to hold video on one and audio files on the other. I've backed up all of my data before doing the install. While installing Mythbuntu, when I get to the partitioning screen it has a check box to use LVM. I selected that, but I then don't have any option to configure the drives as logical volumes, or to set up the volume groups. All of the documentation I've found on setting up LVM on Ubuntu is pretty old (12.x).

I have two questions: 1) Can I actually set up LVM during the install if I'm using a custom partitioning scheme, or if I select LVM will Mythbuntu only configure my partitions in the manner it thinks best?

2) How do I set up LVM after installing Mythbuntu? Is there a utility for that? In OpenSUSE it is very easy to do either during install or after using YaST. I'm hoping there is something similar in Mythbuntu.

Thanks.
